The United Nations Tourism (UN Tourism) has released its “Tourism Visa Openness” report, updating the latest trends on global visa policies.
Vietnam decided to expand the issuance of e-Visas to citizens of all countries and territories from August 2023. |
The report consists of the tourism visa openness, which measures the degree to which destinations facilitate tourism and how open a country is in terms of visa facilitation for tourism purposes.
The report also evaluates the mobility scores to indicate the extent to which citizens around the world are subject to visa policies, as well as an in-depth analysis of the reciprocity of visa policies.
The UN Tourism report noted that with the lifting of COVID-19-related travel restrictions, visa facilitation has returned to being a key priority for many destinations globally.
This has led to more accessible entry requirements and more streamlined processes for temporary visitors, contributing to a rapid recovery for international tourism.
To implement measures to facilitate visa issuance, destinations use modern technology to improve processing capabilities and enhance security measures.
