<p style="text-align:justify">On 3rd February, on the sidelines of the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2023 in Indonesia, the Vietnamese delegation had bilateral meetings with the Indian, Chinese delegations, the US-ASEAN Business Council (US-ABC) and Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA).</p> <p style="text-align:justify"><a href="https://images.vietnamtourism.gov.vn/en//images/2023/spad1.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="" src="https://images.vietnamtourism.gov.vn/en//images/2023/spad1.jpg" /></a></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><em>The bilateral meeting with India (Photo: TITC)</em></p> <p style="text-align:justify">At the bilateral meeting with India, Mr. Doan Van Viet, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism (MOCST) and Mr. Jayant Namdeorao Khobragade, Ambassador of the Republic of India to ASEAN expressed their gratitude towards the blooming of the cooperation relationship between the two countries, especially activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and India and numerous cooperation programmes in tourism. Affirming Vietnam is one of the brightest spots in the process of tourism development, leaders of the two sides shared the common interest of enhancing cooperation and promoting the exchange of visitors. Currently, the number of visitors exchanged between the two sides is increasing along with the expansion of flight routes connecting the cities of the two countries, showing positive signs of the recovery of tourism activities. The Deputy Minister of Vietnam’s Culture, Sport and Tourism and the Ambassador of the Republic of India to ASEAN further exchanged the information on the policy of opening up to restore tourism, outstanding types of tourism with great potential for people and tourists of the two countries, including Buddhist tourism.</p> <p style="text-align:justify"><a href="https://images.vietnamtourism.gov.vn/en//images/2023/spad2.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="" src="https://images.vietnamtourism.gov.vn/en//images/2023/spad2.jpg" /></a></p> <p style="text-align:justify"><em>The meeting with the US-ASEAN Business Council (US-ABC) (Photo: TITC)</em></p> <p style="text-align:justify">At the meeting with the US-ASEAN Business Council (US-ABC), the both sides discussed, exchanged and endorsed on a number of contents related to the opening up, strengthening the exchange of visitors, creating favourable conditions for visitors to Vietnam, etc. Both sides also shared the interests of promoting product innovation, developing community-based tourism, attracting the participation of authorities, localities and businesses, enhancing the application of information technology, training tourism human resources. The meeting endorsed the exchanges of information and interests of promoting the positive cooperation results in the field of tourism, creating momentum for the recovery of market connectivity, promote visitor exchange and sustainable development in the near future.
