<p style="text-align:justify">An estimated 74% of Vietnamese travellers care about more sustainable travel, according to a survey by the digital travel platform Agoda.</p> <table> <tbody> <tr> <td style="text-align:justify"><img alt="Tourists at the Kiss Bridge in Phu Quoc." src="https://image-en.nhandan.vn/w800/Uploaded/2024/kdrejwqxj/2024_03_22/a5-6064-2045.jpg" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td style="text-align:center">Tourists at the Kiss Bridge in Phu Quoc.</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <p style="text-align:justify">The company said as Vietnamese travellers venture to explore new horizons, they are increasingly mindful of the potential impact of their choices.</p> <p style="text-align:justify">Survey respondents highlighted that financial incentives, the availability of sustainable travel packages and clearer guidance on sustainable travel practices could encourage them to make more sustainable choices on their next trip.</p> <p style="text-align:justify">In Vietnam, financial incentives (37%) and the availability of more sustainable travel packages (24%) account for over half of the total responses as the leading factors driving more sustainable travel choices.</p> <p style="text-align:justify">Rounding out the top five are increased education and awareness about environmental impact (13%), clearer guidelines on sustainable and responsible travel practices (11%) and government incentives or policies for more sustainable travel (9%).</p> <p style="text-align:justify">When asked which sustainable travel practices travellers from Vietnam prioritise on their trips, local travellers prioritise supporting local communities and conservation projects (30%), recycling and reducing waste (19%) and choosing accommodations with sustainability certifications (15%).</p> <p style="text-align:justify">Across Asia, over a quarter of the respondents chose supporting local communities through actions, such as purchasing locally made products or contributing to local initiatives.</p>
