<h2 style="text-align:justify">VOV.VN - The export of agro-forestry-fishery products continued to be a bright spot in the overall picture of the national economy in the first quarter of 2024, generating a trade surplus of US$3.36 billion, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.</h2> <p style="text-align:justify"><img alt="agro-forestry-fishery sector posts us 3.36 bln trade surplus in q1 picture 1" src="https://media.vov.vn/sites/default/files/styles/large/public/2024-03/nlts.jpg" title="agro-forestry-fishery sector posts us 3.36 bln trade surplus in q1 picture 1" /></p> <p style="text-align:justify">The sector raked in US$13.53 billion from exports in the reviewed period, representing a rise of 21.8% year on year. </p> <p style="text-align:justify">There were four items which recorded an export value of more than US$1 billion each, including timber (US$2.32 billion), fruits and vegetables (US$1.23 billion), rice (US$1.37 billion), and coffee (US$1.9 billion). </p> <p style="text-align:justify">Most notably, many products saw an increase in export prices in the first quarter. The average export prices of rice and coffee edged up by 5% and 6.8% to US$661 per tonne and US$2,373 per tonne, respectively. </p> <p style="text-align:justify">The average export prices of rubber and pepper increased by 5.1% and 35.6% to US$1,462 per tonne and US$4,153 per tonne, respectively. </p> <p style="text-align:justify">With regard to export markets, China, the United States, and Japan all continued to be three largest consumers of Vietnamese agro-forestry-fishery products. Exports to these markets accounted for 20.2%, 19.9%, and 7%, respectively, of total turnover. </p>
