<h2 style="text-align:justify">VOV.VN - Party General Secretary and President To Lam suggested that Guangdong of China increase exchanges and cooperation with Vietnamese localities for win-win approach, during his meeting with Huang Kunming, secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese Communist Party on August 18.</h2> <p style="text-align:justify"><img alt="party leader pushes for closer local cooperation between vietnam and china picture 1" src="https://media.vov.vn/sites/default/files/styles/large/public/2024-08/To%20Lam%20and%20Huang%20Kunming%20in%20Guangdong%20on%20August%2018.jpg" title="party leader pushes for closer local cooperation between vietnam and china picture 1" /></p> <p style="text-align:center">Vietnamese Party General Secretary and President To Lam (L) during his meeting with Huang Kunming, secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, in Guangdong on August 18.</p> <p style="text-align:justify">To Lam, who is on an official state visit to China, spoke highly of Guangdong’s recent development achievements, especially in economics, urban management, and development of its special economic zone, and expressed his belief that the province would continue to reap greater achievements in its development.</p> <p style="text-align:justify">He briefed his host on the purpose of his working visit to China this time and affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance and gives top priority to developing relations with China.</p> <p style="text-align:justify">He on this occasion thanked the Party committee, administration and people of Guangdong province, as well as Guangzhou city for preserving major historical relic sites of Vietnam in Guangzhou, including the grave of martyr Pham Hong Thai, one of Vietnamese revolutionary activists in the early 20th century, and the headquarters of Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association, the predecessor organization of the Communist Party of Vietnam.</p> <p style="text-align:justify">These sites become a symbol of traditional friendship, solidarity and close bond between the two Parties, the two countries and the two peoples, he stressed.</p> <p style="text-align:justify">Huang for his part welcomed To Lam to Guangdong, the first stopover during his state visit to China, saying To Lam’s visit coincides with the 100th anniversary of Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh’s revolutionary activities seeking ways for national salvation in Guangzhou.</p> <p style="text-align:justify">He congratulated To Lam on being recently elected General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, and expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by To Lam, Vietnam would continue to record greater achievements in national development and international integration, successfully implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.</p> <p style="text-align:justify">To Lam thanked the Guangdong official for congratulations and said the fruitful cooperation between Guangdong and Vietnamese localities in recent times has made a practical contribution to reinforcing the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China.</p> <p style="text-align:justify">He proposed that localities of the two sides continue to maintain exchanges and increase cooperation across all fields, especially in trade, investment and strategic connections. He welcomed Guangdong enterprises to expand the scale of high-quality investment in Vietnam in the fields of digital transformation, green growth, and infrastructure.</p> <p style="text-align:justify">In response, Huang affirmed that Guangdong vows to work hard to strengthen friendly exchanges and practical cooperation in all fields with Vietnamese localities, to help elevate China-Vietnam relations to new heights.</p>
