November 24-27, 2023 China (Guangzhou) International Tea Expo was held at the Canton Fair Complex, Area B. Guangzhou Tea Expo continues to deepen international exchanges, this year, there are exhibitors from Vietnam, Laos, Nepal, Sri Lanka, to bring the most representative of the local tea products. Among them, the Vietnam exhibition group has a strong lineup, not only participating in the exhibition, but also having in-depth exchanges with the Chinese industry.
At the opening ceremony of the Guangzhou Tea Expo on the morning of November 24, guests including Nguyen Duy Phu -- Consul of the Consulate General of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam in Guangzhou, attending the opening ceremony together.
On the morning of 24th, Guangzhou Tea Expo held the 10th "Media Forum of Tea", in which Chinese and foreign guests held a round-table forum with the theme of "Mutual appreciation of civilizations, building tea ties - let the aroma of tea float all along the Belt and Road." At the forum, Director of the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion of Lam Dong Province of Vietnam, Dương Quốc Anh, introduced that Vietnam’s tea production and export volume are among the best in the world.
Lam Dong province is the earliest and largest commercial tea producer in Vietnam, and according to the latest data, by 2022, the tea plantation area in the province has exceeded 11,000 hectares, with an average production of nearly 15 tons per hectare and a total production of 164,143 tons. In recent years, with the advancement of the "The Belt and Road" policy, the tea industry in Lam Dong province has received more attention and support, and the government has been actively promoting the modernization and standardization of the tea plantations in the region, improving the quality and production of tea, and strengthening cooperation with the international market.
On the evening of 24th, Mr. Duong Quoc Anh was invited to attend the Top 100 Innovative Talents Awarding Ceremony with the theme of "Seeing Spring in the World of Tea". 1,500 guests and tea lovers from all over the world applauded the 100 young tea masters with the most innovative spirit in the Chinese tea industry, which is the backbone of the new force of Chinese tea.
On the 25th, Ms. Hu Weihong, Chairman of Guangzhou YI-WU International Exhibition Co., Ltd. and Mr. Li Guangtao, Managing Director of Guangzhou YI-WU International Exhibition Co., Ltd. visited the Vietnam booth of Guangzhou Tea Expo, and the Vietnamese exhibitors invited the two of them to taste the famous teas of Vietnam, as well as the newly developed teas of Lam Dong Province.
On the evening of 25th, the much-anticipated Guangzhou Tea Expo "Pearl River Tea Gathering" came as scheduled, this grand tea event attracted tea lovers from all over the world to gather together to experience this unique tea culture feast. Dương Quốc Anh, as the No.45 tea gathering host, brought an amazing Vietnamese tea experience to the scene, and the Vietnamese tea lovers introduced the varieties of the Vietnamese tea they brought, as well as the production process and the unique taste. In the process of tea tasting, they used the exquisite brewing skills and enthusiastic attitude to let the audiences of tea lovers feel the distinctive charm of the Vietnamese tea.
On 26th, the Vietnamese delegation visited Fangcun in Liwan District, Guangzhou City, to inspect the southern tea market in China.
According to the reports, The Tea Market of the South is listed by the Guangzhou municipal government as one of the five major professional wholesale markets during the 10th Five-Year Plan of China. The Tea Market of the South mainly deals in tea wholesale, as well as tea-related tea sets and tea crafts. The market gathers more than 1,000 varieties of tea in six series from various producing areas, as well as tea sets from all over the country, such as Yixing clay teapots, Jingdezhen porcelain, etc., as well as famous porcelain from various producing areas in Southeast Asia. In addition, the market also operates tea-related artworks including wooden root carving tea tables, calligraphy, paintings and so on.
