Vietnam starts to fully open tourism activities from March 15 in an effort to boost post-COVID-19 economic recovery.

Zeit (Time) and other newspapers reported that foreign tourists now only require a negative COVID-19 test using the RT-PCR method within 72 hours of departure or a rapid antigen test within 24 hours of departure.

Those who do not test prior to their arrival in the nation must take a test within 24 hours and may only leave their accommodations if their results are negative.

Furthermore, tourists are not required to possess a certificate of being fully vaccinated, although they have to install a certified health management app. Children under the age of two are not required to take a COVID-19 test.

Several newspapers also noted that the Vietnamese Government issued a resolution on March 15 regarding visa waivers for citizens from 13 nations, including Germany. Arrivals from these countries will enjoy 15 days of visa-free travel in Vietnam, beginning from their date of entry regardless their entry purpose.

The same day saw Stuttgart newspaper recommend that tourists travel to Vietnam for a month-long bicycle ride across the country, which boasts a diverse array of landscapes, forests, mountains, beaches, and rice paddies. It also highlighted the Ho Chi Minh Trail, which is popular among tourists opting to travel by motorbike or by coach.

The article added another perk of travelling using bicycles is that almost anyone can fix them, whilst it wouldn’t take much time for amateur bicycle mechanics to come to the rescue and help tourists resume their journey.
